Our office is excited to announce the addition of a revolutionary advanced process that will allow us to straighten teeth with braces in significantly less time. The process is called SureSmile® and orthodontists using it have found it shortens treatment time by 30-40%. There are fewer visits and less over-all discomfort. SureSmile has designed 3D imaging software allowing Dr. Jacobus to customize a treatment plan from a 3D model. The teeth are first scanned using an oral scanner creating the 3D image. Dr. Jacobus can then move the teeth to their target position on the computer. A SureSmile robot then custom bends a shape memory wire to move teeth to their final position. The result is more direct tooth movement, which “shortens the distance” finish position.
