Brian B. Jacobus, Jr., D.D.S., M.S. – Orthodontist in Port St. Lucie, Florida
Dr. Jacobus (or Dr. J as he is known to his patients) has lived in St. Lucie County most of his life. He attended elementary school at St. Anastasia and high school at John Carroll High in Fort Pierce. Dr. J received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Mount St. Mary’s College in Emmitsburg, Maryland and his D.D.S. from Georgetown School of Dentistry in Washington, D.C. Dr. J then received his master’s degree and Orthodontic Certificate during his Orthodontic Residency at Georgetown in 1985. He has practiced orthodontics exclusively since that time.
As a Major in the US Air Force, Dr. Jacobus served as Chief of Orthodontics at RAF Lakenheath, England and was Special Orthodontic Consultant for 5 Air Force bases.
Dr. J is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association and the Southern Society of Orthodontists. He a past President of the Florida Association of Orthodontists, a past President of the Treasure Coast Dental Society, a past delegate to the Florida Dental Association and is a Legislative Contact for the Florida Dental Association. He is also a delegate representing the Southern Association of Orthodontists to the American Association of Orthodontists.
A former guest lecturer at Indian River Community College, Dr. Jacobus taught orthodontic assisting and was the Florida Association of Orthodontists examiner for the certification of orthodontic assistants in the area.
Dr. J is married and has three children and three grandchildren. They live in St. Lucie West, where Dr. Jacobus is continually trying to improve his golf game, manage his son's Little Leauge team and take the occasional time out to chase bonefish with a fly rod.
